Japanese Manga

Once almost completely unknown to the world outside Japan, manga (Japanese comics) and anime (Japanese animation) have become a global phenomenon — A                          . In some cases, the opposite is true; a popular original anime will be given a manga adaptation. However, the two terms are not interchangeable.
