You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.

The advent of technology has resulted in a noticeable decline in the art of conversation. While talking on the phone used to be the primary means of communication, texting or instant messaging has rapidly gained popularity over the past two decades as the go-to method of staying in touch with friends and family.

Recent studies indicate a significant preference for texting over actual conversations. Texting serves well for quick and brief messages or casual exchanges. However, it falls short when it comes to having deep and meaningful conversations. The absence of intonation, the inability to observe eye contact and body language — essential elements of face-to-face communication — make it challenging to truly connect through text. Therefore, it is essential to set aside our mobile phones and engage in conversations before we lose the valuable skill of personal interaction.
