The likelihood of developing allergies can be influenced by genetic factors. Some individuals may have a genetic predisposition to allergies, making them more susceptible compared to others. Allergies can be inherited from parents, as they can be passed down through genes. Identifying the distinction between a cold and an allergy can sometimes be challenging due to similar symptoms. If your cold symptoms persist for more than two weeks, it is more likely to be an allergy rather than a cold.
