The Olympics in Sydney

The Olympic Games of 2000 were very special as Sydney, the host city, did a great job meeting the spectators’ numerous expectations. Anticipation was certainly high for the first Games of the new millennium. The year 2000 also                         (SEE) new additions to the sporting line-up – triathlon and taekwondo. Furthermore, it was the first time when                         (WOMAN) could compete in weightlifting and modern pentathlon. Russia took the                         (TWO) place in Sydney 2000, which was a great result.
