Strolling through the aisles of a bustling supermarket, a young man found himself aware he                          (FOLLOW) by an elderly lady. Feeling sympathy, the young man responded, "I'm truly sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do to assist you?" With a faint smile, she requested, "When I depart, could you kindly bid me farewell with the words 'Goodbye, mother'? It would make me feel                          (GOOD)." Without hesitation, the young man agreed, "Certainly." 

As the elderly woman made her way towards the exit, he called out, "Goodbye, mother!" Continuing his own errand, he approached the checkout counter, only to be astounded by the total displayed: $127.50. Perplexed, he questioned, "How can this be? I've only purchased a handful of items!" Smirking, the clerk retorted, "Your mother insisted that you                          (COVER) her expenses."
